Humboldt State President Rollin Richmond Appointed to CCST Board of Directors

Rollin Richmond, president of Humboldt State University, has joined the CCST Board of Directors. The appointment follows a decision to expand representation from the California State University System on the Board.

"We are very pleased with the working relationship that we continue to develop with the California State University," said CCST Board Chair Karl Pister. "CSU has been an active partner in most of our major projects, especially those focusing on science and technology education, and we think CSU's additional representation is appropriate at this juncture."

Richmond has been president of Humboldt State since 2002. Previously, he had a distinguished career as a faculty member, researcher in evolutionary biology and academic administrator. He served as provost of Iowa State University from 1999-2002; was provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at State University of New York (SUNY), Stony Brook from 1995-1999; and was the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of South Florida from 1990-1995. He is also a CCST Fellow.

CCST Board Members are representatives of the major California academic institutions that sustain CCST, prominent industry leaders, and the CCST Executive Director. The Board establishes CCST policy and provides oversight to the Council. Richmond joins fellow CSU president Warren Baker, of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, on the Board.
